In dieser Ausstellung zeigt Reinhard Bock
Reihungen unter dem Aspekt monoton / polyton.
Es sind jeweils vier Einzelaufnahmen im
Format von 40 x 60 cm zu einer Bildreihe von 40 x 240 cm montiert.

Die polytonen Reihungen sind farbenfroh.
Sie ergänzen oder kontrastieren sich farblich.
Sie stehen als Bildfolge unter einem Thema.
Die Einzelfotos sind in der Regel ortsgleich
und zeitnah zu einander entstanden.

Es ist stets der Gesamteindruck,
der bei den polytonen Reihungen zum erzählerischen Ausdruck führt.
Wahrgenommen wie ein Akkord,
in dem der Einzelton zwar hörbar,
aber nicht ohne Absicht vernehmbar ist,
weil der Gesamtklang zur veränderten interpretierten Wahrnehmung führt.

Die beiden Reihungen auf der linken Wand der Galerie
"TOKYO NACHT" und "LICHTBILDER"
wurden 2010 in Tokyo aufgenommen.

Kyoubashi,
- in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs von Tokyo gelegen -
ist ein wichtiges Geschäftsviertel von Toyko,
wo der tägliche Büroalltag im "asobi",
mit der Erholung
in einer der unzähligen Bars und
kleinen Snack-Restaurants sein fröhliches Ende findet.

Shibuya
- die Gegend um den wichtigen Umsteigebahnhof -
ist einer der
quirlig lebendigsten
Stadtteile von Tokyo.
Hier wird das Auge vom Farbenrausch der
Leuchtreklamen und LED-Werbewände,
den hell erleuchteten Boutiquen und Elektronikshops
schier überwältigt und geflutet.


In den monotonen Reihungen führt die
inhaltliche und gestalterische
wie auch die farbliche Reduktion
zum Wesentlichen des Betrachtens,
zur Reflektion, zur Erinnerung, zur Besinnung.

Die monotonen Reihungen verhalten sich
eher wie Einzeltöne eines Instrumentes,
bei dem die Töne durch unterschiedliche
Anschlag-, Anstreich- oder Anblasstärke variieren
und das Instrument in fein überlagerten Tönungen erklingen lassen.

Die Reihungen "PFLASTER" und "WALDBODEN",
die auf der rechten wand der Galerie hängen,
wurden 2012 in BERLIN fotografiert.

Das fast monochrome PFLASTER liegt
auf einem Teil des THEODOR-HEUSS-PLATZES,
der selten betreten wird.
Es fasziniert das wenige Grasgrün, das sich dort
zwischen die Grauwackeklötzchen gezwängt hat
und mit den Steinen in einen Dialog getreten ist.

Der WALDBODEN ist ein Waldweg
in der Nähe der KRUMMEN LANKE.
Nach einem kräftigen Regensturm
war der Weg von unzähligen Kiefernnadeln überflutet,
was die Textur des Boden vollständig veränderte.

Die vier Arbeiten sind als kaschierte Fotoprints
auf Forex-Schaum ausgeführt.


Auf der Projektionswand am Ende des Galerieraums
werden über einen Beamer weitere 24 Reihungen projiziert.

Im Eingangsbereich befindet sich die
Video-Installation "BAMBOO GROVE",
eine FO(U)R SCREENS-Arbeit,
die im Jahre 2010 in KOZUKUE in Japan entstanden ist.

Die vier vertikal angeordneten 15-Zoll großen digiFrames
bilden den Sichtraum vom Waldboden bis zum Blätterdach
eines Bambushains bei fast völliger Windstille ab,
so dass der Eindruck von vier Momentaufnahmen entsteht.
Die vier fünfminütigen Videoclips laufen unsynchronisiert
als Endlosschleifen mit einer Original-Atmo auf Spur 1 (oberster Rahmen).

Hinter der Frontscheibe der Galerie liegt "SCRIBBLE MOVIES" aus
- ebenfalls eine FO(U)R SCREENS-Arbeit.

Die digital zum Ölgemälde verfremdeten Zeitrafferaufnahmen
lassen das reale Straßenleben in Tokyo
in zeitlupenartiger stop motion zerfließen.

Die nebeneinander angeordneten drei 7-Zoll großen digiFrames
laufen als nicht synchronisierte Endlos-Diashow.

This exhibition Reinhard Bock shows "Reihungen"
under the aspect monotone / polytone.
There are four individual takes in the format of 40 x 60 cm
mounted to an image streak of 40 x 240 cm.

The polytones are colorful
and they complement each other in contrast or color
they follow a theme and the individual pictures
are created at the same place and almost the same time.

It is always the overall impression,
which makes up for the narrative quality
of the polytone reihungen like a chord
in which a single tone may not have been heard unintentionally
as the overall sound leads to a modified interpreted perception.

The reihungen on the left wall of the gallery
"TOKYO NACHT" (TOKYO NIGHT)
and "LICHTBILDER" (PICTURES IN LIGHT)
where taken in 2010 in Tokyo.

Kyoubashi, located near Tokyo's main railway station
is a major business district of Toyko
where the day-to-day office life
will happily end in "asobi",
the "recreation" in one of the
countless bars and small snack restaurants.

Shibuya, an area around a major interchange station
of the ring railway Yamanote
is one of the most vibrant city parts of Tokyo.
Here, the eyes are overwhelmed and flooded
by the noise of colors sent out by
neon signs and LED advertising walls
and brightly lit fashion boutiques and warehouses for electronics.


With the monotone reihungen the content,
composition and color reduction work together
for an essential viewing for reflection,
for remembrance, for contemplation.
Each element behaves more like
a single tone
of one single instrument,
where the tones may be different in striking,
bowing or winding and the instrument
sounds in finely layered tints of sound.

The reihungen "PFLASTER" (PAVEMENT)
and "WALDBODEN" (FOREST SOIL)
which fill the gallery walls on the right hand side
were photographed in BERLIN 2012.

The PFLASTER pictured in this image streak
is part of THEODOR-HEUSS-PLATZ
that is accessed quite infrequently
allowing some sparse green grass to push through
- starting a dialogue with the stones.


The WALDBODEN is found in a forest near KRUMME LANKE
where after a heavy rain storm
the ground was flooded by innumerable pine needles
which "re-organized" the pattern of the floor.

These works are produced as laminated photo prints on forex foam.


On the wall at the end of the gallery room
a series of 24 more reihungen will be projected.


In the entry area of the gallery the
video-installation "BAMBOO GROVE",
a FO(U)R SCREENS work
created in KOZUKUE in Japan 2010 is to be found.

Four vertically arranged 15 inch digiFrames
visualise the sight from forest floor to canopy trees
of a bamboo grove during an almost complete calm
which leads to the impression of freeze frames. 
These five minutes long video clips are
unsynchronised endless loops
with an original atmo on track 1 (top frame).


Right behind the gallery's window
"SCRIBBLE MOVIES" is presented
- another FO(U)R SCREEN work.

The triple digiFrame shows timelapse shots
of the street life in Tokyo which,
alienated as oil paintings
let the real life melt away in slow motion.
The horizontally lined single frames of
this 7 inch digiframes run as a non-synchronized slide show.
